Making easy iPod listening possible in your home theater
The Pioneer VSX-1019AH-K 7-Channel Home Theater Receiver is one of the first receivers that can easily work with your iPod or iPhone. Before this, users needed to purchase a separate iPod docker to play their music on the receivers. A front USB input will now let you navigate and play your music, movies and TV show from your TV screen. The unit also features a full screen GUI, a graphical user interface that is departure from the text based menus of receivers released prior to the Pioneer VSX-1019.
The Pioneer VSX-1019 comes equipped with HMDI video technology and1080p video upscale, which bring Blu-ray movies to life with high definition graphics, but some users claim that other models and even TVs can do better. It is in the sound department where the receiver shines. Equipped with a sound system that supports an array of surround sound formats including Dolby and THX, the 1019 delivered audio performance that has blown critics and users away. Additionally, symmetric equalizing, advanced MCAC, phase control and audio level control features add customization capabilities and increased comfort for listeners.
But while it delivers quality in the audio and visual presentation, the unit is not without flaws. To begin with, setting up the unit is difficult. Many users have complained that setting up the unit has become a trial and error process and the user manual, which was equally tedious to read, only served to confuse users more. Another problem would be the remote control and the menus, which were both overly complicated and difficult to use.
While the unit can be difficult to set up to begin with, there is no doubt the Pioneer VSX-1019 is still one of the best home theater receivers among its peers. For an earlier model, it can already deliver top notch sound and substantial graphics at a price less than most receivers in the market.
